Dave Chappelle revealed in "The Age of Spin," his first of three 2017 Netflix stand-up comedy specials, that he skipped a performance at Blackout for Human Rights#JUSTICEFORFLINT benefit concert last winter to attend the Oscars. The comedian aimed to make amends with Flint by donating all proceeds from his Wednesday night (June 7) show to a local foundation working to address the fallout of the water crisis.

"I want you to know that just by coming to see me, you supported this city," Chappelle says in the above performance clip, published by TMZ yesterday (June 8). "I’m not taking a dime," he continued to rapturous applause.

TMZ reports that Chappelle donated all $50,000 in earnings from the show at The Whiting—the same Flint auditorium that hosted #JUSTICEFORFLINT—to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The foundation awards grants to local organizations working with children affected by the water crisis. TMZ says the organization’s CEO Isiah Oliver accepted Chappelle’s check on-stage at The Whiting, and later told the outlet that the money will support young people exposed to the lead in Flint’s drinking water
