On Tuesday (August 27), Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was once again forced to defend herself against naysayers. As usual, she rose to the occasion, using a tweet as her weapon of choice against Alabama Republicans who introduced a resolution on August 24 calling for her “expulsion from the United States Congress.”

Omar’s tweet refers to former Alabama Roy Moore, who announced on June 20 that he is again running for the Senate, even after half a dozen women came forward in 2017 to say he pursued sexual relationships with them when they were teenagers and Black women overwhelmingly voted for his opponent to block him from office.
