Here are the artists of color to cheer on when the Emmy Awards airs in September.

Comedian Leslie Jones hosted the ceremony, which featured social and racial justice-minded awards, a tribute to Prodigy and a joint performance of New Edition and the actors who played them in their BET biopic.

“I was supposed to turn the book in this month and I kept thinking about how egregious it is to give someone like Milo a platform for his blunt, inelegant hate and provocation,” she said. 

The show’s first-ever South Asian-American host had a lot to say about the recently inaugurated president and his most racist supporters.
