Dressed in a trench coat and backpack like the one he wore on the Edmund Pettus Bridge back in 1965, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) recreated the Selma voting rights march with group of children at this year’s Comic-Con. He was on hand to promote “March: Book Two,” the second in a series of graphic novels he coauthored about his role in the Civil Rights Movement, which was released in January.

During a panel at last year’s Awesome Con, Lewis said that he made a misstep when he attended his Comic-Con in San Diego in 2013. “The mistake I made, when I went out to Comic-Con, I didn’t wear my official outfit. Well, I thought I should have a backpack on. I should have had my trench coat on. And maybe a cap—just maybe,” he said.

Consider that mistake corrected.
