Drake Leads BET Awards Pack With Nine Nominations

Canadian rapper, singer, actor and meme hero Drake received nine 2016 BET Award nominations. Drake received the most nominations of any artist this year, follwed by second runners-up Beyoncé and Rihanna, who earned four nods each.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drake will face Bey and RiRi (as well as Kendrick Lamar and Bryson Tiller) in the "Video of the Year" category. 

Outside of music, "Straight Outta Compton" competes with "Concussion," "Creed," "Dope" and "Beasts of No Nation" in the "Best Movie" category. Gabby Douglas, Venus and Serena Williams square off in the "Sportswoman of the Year" category, and Cam Newton and LeBron James duke it out in the complimentary men’s category.
