A group of registered voters in Iowa were treated to robocalls from a White nationalist super PAC on Saturday, Jan. 9, urging them to support Donald Trump in the upcoming election, reports talkingpointsmemo.com.

One of the voices on the call belonged to Jared Taylor, noted racist and spokesman for the Council of Conservative Citizens. This is the same group referenced by Charleston shooter Dylann Roof in the chilling manifesto he penned before shooting and killing nine parishioners in June 2015 at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina. Roof credited the group with opening his eyes to a newfound truth. He wrote in his manifesto, “…The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White [sic] murders. I was in disbelief. At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White [sic] murders got ignored?”

Ever true to his message, Taylor urged Iowa voters to “…vote for Donald Trump because he is the one candidate who points out that we should accept immigrants who are good for America. We don’t need Muslims. We need smart, well-educated White people who will assimilate to our culture. Vote Trump.”

The robocall, although not authorized by Trump, was alarming to Iowa resident Dave Dwyer, who spoke to TPM and sent them a recording of the call. "I’ve lived in Iowa a long time,” said Dwyer, “and I’ve never seen anything like this."
