Black Teen Earns Admission at Every Single Ivy League College

It’s nice to have options, and Elmont Memorial High School valedictorian Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna just found out that she has several.

The Huffington Post reports that the 17-year-old senior was accepted to all eight super-competitive Ivy League schools, plus the other four colleges where she applied. Now she has to decide if she will go to an Ivy—Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth University, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania or Yale University—or one of the other exceptional universities who invited her to report for classes in the fall: Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

“I am humbled by all of the college acceptance letters that I recently received,” 17-year-old Uwamanzu-Nna said in a press release issued by her Long Island, New York, school district. “I am reminded that I have a responsibility to be a role model for others and use my experiences to encourage and inspire others, especially young women.”

Uwamanzu-Nna, the child of Nigerian immigrants, has a 101.64 weighted GPA (100-point scale). Though she isn’t sure which school she will pick, she plans to pursue a science-related major at a university where she can combine her interests in environmental studies and biochemistry. She has until May 1 to accept admission.

Harold Ekeh, Elmont’s salutatorian for the 2014 – 2015 school year, accomplished the same feat. He chose Yale.
