Today’s Love is for ‘We Are the Youth’

Stories and photos of tomorrow's queer leaders.

If there’s one thing to know about queer youth, it’s that they’re fabulous. And that’s a remarkable thing to be in a climate so riddled with hate speech and heartbreak. But it’s probably what Laurel Golio and Diana Scholl had in mind when they started "We Are the Youth", a photo journalism project that chronicles the stories of LGBT youth from around the country. The project’s purpose is to capture the stories of young people whose stories often aren’t being told.

The site’s instructive in more ways than one. In addition to providing a space to tell powerful stories, it’s also got a helpful list of definitions and resources for queer youth and their allies.

So today’s love is for all of the young people brave enough to tell their stories, and the ones who are strong enough to keep surviving them.
