On the same day the organization raced a car with the National Civil Rights Museum logo on its hood, a noose was found in the garage stall of NASCAR’s only Black driver.
University of Delaware officials, students and community continue to reckon with the presence of nooses on campus, despite the assurance that they were leftover ropes from a lantern display.
Seasalt & Co. writes that “seeing the noose wasn’t meant to think of a certain race being hung. It was left empty to represent that we refuse to be judged and hung in a non [literal] sense.”
