A quartet of Black and Brown teenagers struggle to stick together through the difficulties of high school in the trailer for "On My Block," which Netflix debuted yesterday (January 30).

According to Deadline, the ensemble comedy series follows four friends as they enter high school in their South Central Los Angeles neighborhood. The trailer, above, introduces the protagonists, played by young actors in their first lead roles. Cesar (Diego Tinoco, "Teen Wolf") deals with pressure to join a local gang. Monse (Sierra Capri in her screen debut) endures catcalls from neighborhood men. Ruby (Jason Genao, "Logan") awkwardly acts on his infatuation with Olivia (Ronni Hawk, "Stuck in the Middle"). And Jamal (Brett Gray, "Metrocard") adjusts to his new role on the high school football team. The friends experience these challenges together, even as the pressure threatens to scatter them in different directions.

"On My Block" also stars Jessica Marie Garcia ("Liv and Maddie") and Eme Ikwuakor ("Inhumans") in supporting roles. "All Eyez on Me" writers Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft co-developed the series with "Awkward" creator Lauren Iungerich.

"On My Block" comes to Netflix on March 16.
