That Time April D. Ryan Asked Why Trump Has No Comment on Police Killing Black People

In today’s (March 28) White House press briefing, journalist April D. Ryan pressed White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on why President Donald Trump hasn’t released a statement about Louisiana’s failure to indict the officers who killed Alton Sterling or the fatal police shooting of Stephon Clark.

Huckabee Sanders’ response: "Certainly a terrible incidient. This is something that is a local matter, and that’s something that we feel should be left up to the local authorities at this time."

Ryan pushed it further, asking why, then, the president has no problem talking about local police on his own terms. She also asked if the president has anything to report on the status of the case surrounding the police-involved death of Eric Garner. You can guess how that went. Watch the full exchange in the video above. It starts at the 6:52 mark.
