Petition Demands Timecard Data for Apple Employees Who Made New iPad

Almost all of the 30 million iPads sold last year were manufactured overseas and a consumer watchdog isn't convinced Apple is doing everything they can to improve labor conditions in those factories.

On Wednesday morning Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook announced a [new iPad will be on sale March 16th.](http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/07/the-new-ipad-is-official/) But consumer watchdog group SumOfUs.org has launched a new petition calling on Apple to release workers’ clock-in and clock-out data for the last 4 months to prove that the new iPad was made without forcing workers into illegal and dangerous levels of overtime.
