Described as “the world’s first digital museum of private collections,” Collecteurs announced its latest annual list, the SUBSTANCE 100, that celebrates artists, activists, collectives, organizations and movements helping to change the world.

With a focus on the ways that art can create social activism, the list, nominated by the public, celebrates “conscientious individuals and collectives, who are not afraid to challenge pre-existing models and enact social, environmental and political change for a more positive reality,” according to a press release released today (April 10). Among the 100 honored are Art Against Displacement, Hannah Black, Decolonize This Place, Lu Guang, Arthur Jafa, Hank Willis Thomas and Kara Walker.

"SUBSTANCE 100 is an opportunity to celebrate and support the immeasurable momentum of activists in the art world and beyond," said Collecteurs’ founders Jessica and Evrim Oralkan. "We believe creative individuals and industries have the power to revolutionize the world we live in. Collecteurs created SUBSTANCE 100 with admiration for creative integrity, ingenuity, voice and perspective—all of which lend themselves to new ways of thinking and being.
