You don’t need to speak Korean to understand the appeal that K-pop, the South Korean music industry’s take on bubblegum boy bands and girl groups, has for music fans across the world. The international pop juggernaut established its United States bonafides over the weekend; Billboard reported on Sunday (May 27) that BTS, one of the best-known K-pop groups, reached number one on the Billboard 200 with its latest project, "Love Yourself: Tear."
