A new documentary on Prince’s life is set to premiere next year.
“Prince: R U Listening?” will examine the artist’s early career and climb to chart-topping success through the eyes of his bandmates, loved ones and peers. Screen Daily reports involvement from collaborators including guitarist Dez Dickerson, bassist Andre Cymone, percussionist and former fiancée Sheila E. Singer-guitarist Lenny Kravitz, U2’s Bono and The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger are also slated to contribute. Longtime “Frontline” producer and Emmy and Peabody award winner Michael Kirk will helm the documentary, which is slated for release in mid- to late-2017.
The November 29 announcement of “Prince: R U Listening?” comes one week after the release of greatest hits compilation, “Prince 4 Ever.”
