Maya Angelou would have turned 90 today (April 4) had she not died in 2014. Google invites users to meditate on her legacy with a new animated Doodle.
"Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise."

The animation features Angelou reading stanzas of one of her best-known poems, "Still I Rise," with some help from fans, including Oprah Winfrey (who Angelou mentored during her lifetime), her son Guy Johnson and Laverne Cox. The guest readers also offer their own reflections on the writer and activist in an accompanying article on the Google Doodle website.
