Colorlines.com Chosen as a Webby Award Honoree

Not bad for nine months as a digital publication.

By Kai Wright Apr 12, 2011

It’s been an intense nine months at Colorlines.com. We launched as a fully digital, daily publication in July 2010. In the months since then, we’ve navigated the enormous transformation from being a 12-year-old bimonthly magazine to becoming an online home for daily news and analysis. There’s lots more work ahead, but we’ve been thrilled to see our community grow rapidly, both on the site and in social media (if you haven’t yet joined us on Facebook or Twitter, we’d love to have you). That’s the measure that matters most for our work: a growing community of people who care about creating a world in which racial justice is the norm rather than the exception.

But today we got another honor that we’re pretty excited about: Colorlines.com was selected as a Webby Award Honoree in Political Blogs. You can check out the other honorees and the nominees for the category at the Webbys site. We’re learning new lessons every day about how to produce a must-read website for–and with–our community. We’ll take this as a sign we’re on the right track.

We’ll also keep listening to your suggestions–and we know you’re not shy. Keep sending tips, thoughts, copy edits and definitely Celebrate Love ideas to us.
