Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s 2013 novel "Americanah" just won a National Book Critics Circle Award last week, news that was slightly overshadowed this weekend after it was revealed that an upcoming film adaptation may star Hollywood "it" girl Lupita Nyongo.

The author recently gave a wide-ranging interview with Arise Entertainment 360 that touched on the recent successes of black actors in Hollywood. At one point, she said, "I’m going to do the mysterious thing and say that Lupita might be making an announcement very soon. I don’t know. That announcement might be about Americanah."

Fingers crossed!

You can watch the interview below, and the part about the film adaptation comes up at about the six minute mark.
