Calling All Artists for Akonadi’s Racial Justice Poster Contest

By Tammy Johnson Jan 22, 2010

It’s been one heck of a week people. The US Supreme Court says that corporations are people too. In fact they are superhuman and now have the right to outshout everyone on the soapbox. The Democrats go to Boston and shoot themselves foot, again! Can you say “Hello Republican Senator Brown”? And Haiti, sweet Haiti, becomes occupied, stigmatized and Hollywoodized all in less than seven days. Like Marvin says, it’s enough to make you want to halla! But don’t despair! It’s not too late to show the world what racial justice really looks like. If you’ve got a box of crayons, a head full of ideas, and a belly full of fire you can still have a fun weekend. The Akonadi Foundation is sponsoring a racial justice poster contest. The winner will receive a $1500 prize and gets a $500 donation in their name to their favorite racial justice organization. Contest guidelines and submission forms can be found at akonadi.org or check out their Facebook page for more information. February 12th is the deadline.
