Bobbi Kristina Brown Passes at Age 22

Almost six months since she was found unresponsive in her bathtub, Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away yesterday while in an Atlanta-area hospice care facility. The daughter of legendary singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, she was also a singer and media personality in her own right.

Bobbi Kristina has been at the center of significant media attention for most of her life, with tabloids frequently focusing on her alleged issues with drugs and family tension. Her parents’ notoriously turbulent relationship, marred by substance issues and domestic violence, also fed media frenzy around her activities. Her mother’s death in 2012 from an accidental drowning eerily echoed the scenario in which Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive.

Bobbi Kristina was a major fixture on "Being Bobby Brown," the reality television show that focused on her father’s and mother’s life. The show ran in the mid-aughts around the time that Brown and Houston eventually got divorced, with Houston taking custody of Bobbi Kristina.

In a statement to People released by his laywer today, Brown said the following:

Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable.
