Awkwafina, Hasan Minhaj and More APIA Leaders Named to Inaugural A100 List

Gold House, an organization dedicated to fostering Asian- and Pacific Islander-American (APIA) business and cultural leaders, kicked off Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month by publishing its first annual A100 list yesterday (May 1). 

According to the Gold House website, the list of influential APIAs features leaders from various diasporic backgrounds in grassroots organizing, entertainment, technology, finance and beyond. The record also roughly commemorates the 50th anniversary of late historian and Asian-American studies pioneer Yuji Ichioka coining the term "Asian American."

Gold House selected the featured personalities, who will receive the honors at a private ceremony this summer, in consultation with a committee including producer Janet Yang ("The Joy Luck Club"), Yahoo! founder Jerry Yang and veteran news anchor Connie Chung
