AFFRM Kicks Off Its Second Annual Membership Drive

By Qimmah Saafir May 04, 2015

“Selma” director Ava DuVernay has launched the second annual Rebel Membership Drive for her filmmaker organization AFFRM, the African-American Film Festival Releasing Movement.

AFFRM’s goal is to widen the reach of works created by a diverse group of storytellers. The organization, which was founded in 2011, has already distributed eight feature films on digital platforms and in theaters under its Array Releasing.

Past membership benefits included opportunities to chat with filmmakers such as Tim Story and Gina Prince Bythewood, as well as access to screenings. Memberships are $40 for some premiums or $100 for every perk. The drive will last 30 days through June 5.
