The non-profit Applied Research Center -- which operates ColorLines magazine and ColorLines.com -- respects our customers' right to privacy. However, we feel strongly that choosing to share some data with us will help make your experience at ColorLines.com and other interactions with the Applied Research Center more pleasant and successful for you, and will help us continue to provide outstanding investigative journalism and photography.

Most of the information we collect on our website is aggregated to track general patterns such as browser and platform usage and overall traffic patterns. Subscriptions: When you subscribe to our magazine, we use your personal address information to deliver your magazine and send you periodic reminders to renew your subscription. We may also contact you about new products or services, or upcoming events, or share your information with reputable companies who may contact you via mail with products or services we think will be of interest to you. Transactions: When purchasing products in the online store, any financial information you send to us will be saved with our banking records for verification of deposits and handling of refunds. We make only one copy, and store it in the accounting office. Other information, such as your name and mailing address, may be used to send you updates about new features on our site; from time to time we may also share mailing information with other reputable companies. Online giving: Online donations made ColorLines magazine through Applied Research Center are processed by CapWiz. Details of these secure transactions, including name, address and email information, are not shared with any outside organization. If you supply us with your postal address or email, we will use that information for the purpose of delivering what you have requested, such as your magazine subscription or other premium. We may use that information to send you occasional mailings about our projects or ways that you can support ColorLines.
