"Annie" co-producers Will Smith and Shawn "Jay Z" Carter are reuniting for a much more serious collaboration.

Various outlets reported on Friday that the two will be co-producing a miniseries for HBO on Emmett Till, the black teenager whose brutal 1955 murder by two white men in Mississippi (for allegedly flirting with a young white woman) and subsequenet open-casket funeral was an important rallying point for the Civil Rights Movement. Carter is listed as an excutive producer alongside his Roc Nation partner Jay Brown, Smith’s business partner James Lassiter, and Aaron Kaplan. The project is still looking for a head writer and title, although it is set to be six hours long.

This is the third Emmett Till project announced in the last two months. Roger Ebert’s widow is involved in one of the projects, while the second is based on the play "Face of Emmett Till."

August 28 will mark the 60th anniversary of Till’s murder.
