Watch Don Cheadle Break Down This ‘Miles Ahead’ Scene

By Sameer Rao Apr 01, 2016

"I wanted the entire film to feel like a composition and an experience of Miles Davis." That’s Don Cheadle, talking about his highly anticipated Miles David biopic "Miles Ahead" for The New York Times’ "Anatomy of a Scene."

Cheadle directed, co-produced, co-wrote and starred in the film, which premieres in select theaters today and opens everywhere on April 22. He narrates the scene where Davis meets journalist Dave Brill (Ewan McGregor) in the 1970s, at the height of the music pioneer’s issues with substance abuse and mental illness. The film chronicles Davis’ quest to recover lost music, while flashing back to earlier periods in his prolific career. Cheadle’s narration offers context to Davis’ and Brill’s contentious relationship, which underscores much of the film’s action.
