New York Giants’ Victor Cruz danced his way through the Grammys last night. He was seen doing his signature Salsa number before the show, the ceremony stage and telecast and then again backstage. The irony of it all is the Best Latin Jazz and Best Tropical Latin Album categories in which Salsa qualified for are no longer categories in the Grammy competition. On April 6, 2011, the [Recording Academy announced its decision to consolidate Grammy Awards categories from 109 to 78,](https://colorlines.com/archives/2012/02/of_whitney_houstons_6_grammys_4_were_won_in_now-eliminated_categories.html) leaving more artists of color competing for fewer Awards.
