Selena Quintanilla-Pérez will be gracing stages once again in the form of a hologram called "Selena the One."

According to a press release shared through her official Facebook page, the icon’s hologram "will release new songs and videos, will collaborate with current hit artists, and aims to go on tour in 2018."

The company behind the project is a Nevada-based independent tech company called Acrovirt LLC. Its co-CEO Terry Kennedy made a statement about the project (which has already secured a media partnership with the San Diego Latino Film Festival):

Selena is a Latin American icon who was taken before her time. Acrovirt and the Quintanilla family are excited to announce that Selena will continue to share her creative talents with the world in a new innovative way.

The festival director Phil Lorenzo is excited about the endeavor.

This is an extraordinary effort to bring back one of the greatest voices in Latino music history.

An IndieGoGo campaign is set to launch on April 16 and will aim to raise $500,000 in support of creating "Selena the One."
