Queen Latifah is getting a new talk show. The rapper, actress and Cover Girl spokesmodel is working with Will Smith and Dr. Oz to develop a syndicated talk show.
Sony Pictures Television said on Monday that it will produce the untitled show with Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment and Overbrook Entertainment, the company of James Lassiter and Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, according to the New York Times. In 1991, Smith's Overbrook Entertainment gave Queen Latifah one of her earliest screen appearances on his sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."
"We have known and admired Latifah for over 20 years: dating back to our music days, to her first television role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and years alter when she worked with Jada on the film Set it Off," Overbrook's Miguel Melendez told the Hollywood Reporter.
Queen Latifah hosted a previous talk show, "The Queen Latifah Show," which ran in syndication from 1999 to 2001. Her new series is planned for debut in the Fall of 2013.
