Those who find the Self-Defense Starter Kit video series valuable can now carry its various strategies for avoiding and de-escalating discriminatory violence on their person, thanks to a new zine. 

Filmmakers Robie Flores and Alison Withers—who directed the video series with Muslim women-focused Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment (WISE)—partnered with reproductive justice publication Repro Rights Zine to create the illustrated zine. It will launch online tomorrow (June 10) via SelfDefenseStarterKit.com, where fans can download and print it for free.

New York City residents can also pick up a printed copy at the feminist Hester Street Fair, where video star and WISE founder Rana Abdelhamid will conduct a self-defense workshop.
