Michelle Obama Shares Love of Dance on Diwali

And from all accounts, India loves her too.

We all know First Lady Michelle Obama, as a patron of the arts, appreciates dance. She honored Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater artistic director Judith Jamison at the White House with the inaugural White House Dance Series earlier this year. And while she was on the campaign trail for her husband in 2008 she went on Ellen Degeneres’ show to [show off](http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/08/michelle-obama-dances-on_n_124872.html) her own moves. Ellen and the First Lady agreed that she’s a better dancer than her husband. This past Sunday she spent the morning with President Obama at Holy Name High School in Mumbai. They checked out a science project that the students had spent a week building, lit lanterns in honor of Diwali, and then danced with schoolchildren to a traditional song called "Mee Hai Koli." Well, the First Lady danced. President Obama made a great attempt at something close to it. The charming moment, which has made its rounds on the internet and earned the First Lady the title of ["dancing queen"](http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Dancing-queen-Michelle-rocks-India/articleshow/6885869.cms), is today’s love. Spontaneous dance with adorable kids, joyful smiles and the First Lady? Happy Tuesday. We’re ending the day as often as possible by celebrating love. We welcome your ideas for posts.
