Last night at Game 1 of the NBA western conference finals in Los Angeles, the Lakers dominated Los Phoenix Suns. But on the sidelines, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant — born Vanessa Cornejo Ubrieta, and whose father is Mexican — made a loud political statement against Arizona’s SB 1070. The LA Times reported dozens of protesters were also outside calling on Lakers coach Phil Jackson to denounce SB1070, but so far there’s no signs of that happening anytime soon.
