Gabby Douglas Wasn’t Thinking About The History She Was Making

The powerhouse gymnast is the first black female to win an all-around gold after her stellar turn Thursday.

When Gabby Douglas won her gold medal in all-around gymnastics on Thursday, she was also making history. Not only was Douglas the first woman of color to win an all-around gold medal, the most coveted title in her sport, she is also the first American to win both an individual and team medal at the same Olympics. But that’s not where Douglas’ mind was yesterday.
