A Film Based On The President and FLOTUS’s First Date Is In The Works

A film called “Southside With You” based on President Barack Obama’s first date with the FLOTUS is set to begin shooting in Chicago this August. 

Actor Parker Sawyers has been cast to portray the president in his late 20s for the romance drama. Sawyers will star alongside actress Tika Sumpter who will depict the first lady when she was a young lawyer named Michelle Robinson. 

The movie will cover the span of Obama wooing Robinson, their date which included a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago followed by a screening of Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” and their first kiss. 

Writer Richard Tanne penned and will also direct “Southside With You."
