He just wants you to know that he really, really cares.

I’ve been reluctant to give any unnecessary attention to Donald Trump’s highly publicized embrace of birthirism. But today, his blathering reached epic proportions when he berated President Obama and then touted his "great relationship" with "the blacks." From [USA Today](http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/04/donald-trump-blacks-2012-presidential-race-/1?loc=interstitialskip): > Donald Trump said today he is troubled by President Obama’s high standing among African Americans, suggesting he probably wouldn’t get support from black voters that he believes he deserves. > > "I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks," Trump said on Talk 1300 AM radio in Albany, N.Y. Trump is considering a presidential run in 2012. And from the looks of it, the race is already shaping up to be an absolute spectacle. Earlier this week, [Dorian Warren helped explain](https://colorlines.com/archives/2011/04/the_tea_partys_deficit-spending_trojan_horse.html) at least a part of the ideology behind antics like the ones driving Trump. [Julianne Hing also wrote](https://colorlines.com/archives/2011/04/arizona_senate_passes_birther_bill.html) about Arizona Republicans’ love affair with birthirism.
