Act Now! Keep Families in their Homes!

By Seth Freed Wessler Apr 17, 2009

The battle to save rent regulation is at a critical moment in New York City. Immigrants are more likely than native-born New Yorkers to live in rent-stabilized housing, and they live in neighborhoods where rents have increased dramatically. Rent regulations provide a stable stock of rental housing units and should be strengthened in the face of accelerating deregulation. In the coming weeks, we will see either the biggest victory for New York City tenants in 35 years, or a devastating loss for rent regulation and affordable housing. The time to act is NOW. Show your elected officials you care about keeping apartments affordable! THIS SATURDAY, April 18th @11 AM Meet at 94-05 35th Avenue in Jackson Heights Sponsored by: Make the Road NY, Queens Congregation United for Action, Queens Community House, New York Immigration Coalition, Chhaya CDC, Woodside on the Move, Asian Americans for Equality and Housing Here and Now
