The 1491s Parody the Problematic Song ‘Cherokee’

In 1987, a Swedish heavy metal band named Europe released a single named "Cherokee," which charted in the US at number 72. The song itself is rather bizarre, and its accompanying video is filled with some pretty basic misunderstandings of history.

Fast-forward 27 years, and the 1491s (performing as the group Turdle Island) are back with a "Cherokee" video parody, which is just as ridiculous–but much funnier–than the original.
